Bondi 9 Week Challenge: Week 2
Conceive, Believe, Achieve
Â
Every great accomplishment starts with believing you can do it. Yes, longer runs may feel intimidating now, but youâre growing stronger with each step. Trust the process and trust yourself. The training has been designed to help you succeed, and guess what? Youâre showing up, which means youâre already winning! When doubt creeps in, remember all the small victoriesâevery run youâve completed, every mile youâve logged, every bit of progress youâve made. You have what it takes, and HOKA is with you every step of the way. Youâve got this! Â
Tip From Coach Jack:  Taking on a long-distance run can seem like a daunting task. In fact, it probably doesnât serve you well to think about the desired outcome all the time, because making a comparison to where you are now can leave you discouraged. Instead, with the athletes I coach, I use a metaphor I call heating the room. It goes like this. Imagine you have an ice cube, and your ultimate goal is to make it melt. The ice cube is in a room set at 0 degrees and can only be heated by one degree a day. You show up on day one to heat the room, but youâll still be looking at an ice cube. It wonât be until day 33 that the ice cube actually melts. If you focus on the ice cube, itâll be easy to give up. If you focus on what you can control (heating the room) the challenge for the day becomes a more achievable feat. As you work through this plan, try to keep the focus on the workout or session scheduled for the day. Executing all, or some, of it is âheating the roomâ and getting you closer to your ultimate goal. Â
Hereâs a message from HOKA Ambassador Latoya Shauntay Snell about overcoming challenges in her own running journey.Â
